Checklist to start a blog
Do you want to start a Blog?
Take paper and pensil and your computer and let’s start!
What do you want to write about?
What is your niche? Don’t narrow it down but don’t make it to big as well. What is your passion? What do you want to share with the world? Start from what is your interest.
Who is your ideal reader?
For whom do you write? Make a moodboard. Where does this person lives, how old is he/she, in what surrounding does this person lives.
Chose your blogname
Do not take this lightly! this is the name you’re using for years to come if blogging is what you want!
Think about a another name then your one!
Why? If you want to write about your own life: sure it is an option to do that in your one name but is this the best option? Everyone who knows your name will find you site with the first google search they do. Also your employer, collegues, friends for friends is that what you want to start with? Yes? OK no problem.
If you want to start a blog about a niche and you want control think about your name! Think about a name that is related to your niche. Google, look on insta, facebook, tiktok, pinterest if the name is not already in use. It can be difficult to find a name that is not already in use and suits by you. But it is worth it!
Look for hosting
On which platform you want to host your page? Every country has it’s one! Do you think you have to pay a lot for hosting or a web design? No you do not! Look for a host that is free or not expensive!
Why? Learning is important and a blog is hard work! Do not forget that! Today you are full with ideas. You cannot wait to make everything happen. The website cannot be build soon enough. You’re in a high. You can put a lot of money in the experiance today but will it have effect tomorrow?
Blogging is running a marathon. Everyday a little peace again and again! Every week a blog at a time and building your website. Google has to learn about you and what you publish. And it is from no importance to Google if you spend 1000 eur on your website or you build a website for free!
How do you chose a website theme?
How do you want to design your site? Will there be a lot of pictures? Do you want to write a lot of text?
Look at a lot of theme and decide. As above don’t spent a lot of money on it!

How to design your layout
Choose your first lay out. Do you have a image for the header? Do you want a tag line and what will this be? Know you can chance that every time you want and !
Write your first blog
Now the fun begins! Write you first blog! And when you’re on it write the first 5 blogs. This is why you did all the work above! This is your goal. Write your blog and don’t forget to publish it!
It is not important that all above is perfect! It’s importent you start! The first blog you post probably will have a few people to read it. Blogging is not about being perfect but about charing!
Make a calendar
When and how much do you want to publish? Do not publish 5 blog at a time but spread them out over a periode of time. You can set a date and time for every blog you post. Use it for your good.
Start with 1 social media
Do you like socials? Do you have them already and want you to start them as well for your blog? Start them up then. Not all at ones but choose. 6 social media channels can be overwhelming when you want to write blogs as well. But start with one and build it up from that way up.
I chose to start with instagram and pinterest.
